Marketing Blasts
Marketing Blasts provide a way to send out an email and text message to your entire list on a one-time or recurring basis.
They are available on the four offer types that are purchased: eGift-Cards, Certificates, Discount Cards and Subscription Boxes, and one free offer type: Give Away Offers.
For Give Away Offers, you're giving away something for free, so the system will automatically create a certificate for each recipient when it sends out the blast.
The green button in the email and link in the text message will take the recipient directly to the certificate for redemption.
But for eGift-Cards, Certificates, Discount Cards and Subscription Boxes, since those are purchased, the purpose of the marketing blast is to promote the sale. So, the system won't create a certificate. Instead, the green button in the email and link in the text message will go to the sales page for eGift Cards and Certificates, or the splash page for Discount Cards and Subscription Boxes.
CartQ emphasizes "Set and Forget" automation techniques, and Marketing Blasts provides this through recurring promotions.
You can set up all of your monthly, quarterly or holiday promotions ahead of time, complete with a checkout window (a timeframe where the customer can purchase), maximum quantity sold restriction and "Sale Ends Soon" reminders, without the need to touch it again until you want to make an update to something. This is because the system will automatically maintain the checkout window and maximum quantity sold sales restrictions based on your marketing blast schedule.
In this document we'll be focusing on Marketing Blasts for our purchased offer types. (View the document for Give Away Offers for more information on that specifically.)

Send One Time or Immediately
If we want to promote our offer one time in the future, we can choose Send One Time and then choose our Send Date.
Or we can send immediately upon saving the form.
In this example, we will allow sales with no restriction on the number sold or timeframe.

Send On Yearly Holiday
We can choose from the most popular holidays and have it send a blast every year.
This would most likely coincide with a themed promotion.
For example, if you have a special offer that you want to run on St. Patrick's Day, you would create your eGift Card or Certificate and then choose St. Patricks Day for the yearly holiday marketing blast.

Repeating Interval
If we want to sell 20 eGift Cards every month, or every quarter, etc.., the Repeating Interval would allow us to do that.
Repeating Interval allows for the following frequencies:
Monthly - 1st of Month
Bi-Monthly - 1st of Jan/Mar/May/Jul/Sep/Nov
Bi-Monthly - 1st of Feb/Apr/Jun/Aug/Oct/Dec
Quarterly - 1st of Jan/Apr/Jul/Oct

Sales Restrictions - Checkout Window
We have four options for Sales Restrictions:
Unlimited
Checkout Window
All-Time Maximum Quantity Sold
Checkout Window and Max Qty Sold Within Window
If we choose Checkout Window, we can select the number of days after the send date that we want the Checkout Window to last.
Note: If you choose a Repeating Interval and then choose a Checkout Window that exceeds the Repeating Interval, the Checkout Window will automatically end and restart each time a new Repeating Interval starts.

Sales Restrictions - Maximum Quantity Sold
We can restrict it to the All-Time Maximum Quantity Sold, meaning if we want to cap the number sold for a certain eGift Card at 100, the system will show a friendly error message if someone tries to click on or purchase that eGift Card after 100 sales have been made.
Or we can do a combination of both: Checkout Window and Max Qty Sold Within Window
This will enforce a Checkout Window, but if the quantity sold reaches the maximum before the checkout window ends, the system will prevent any additional sales.
The benefit to having the combination is that when we choose Yearly Holiday or Repeating Interval, the "quantity sold" tally will reset itself each time we enter into a new Checkout Window.
In this example, we want to run a Quarterly eGift Card sale, where we want to send out our blast every quarter, we want to limit it to only 20 cards per sale, and only have the sale last 7 days.

Send Time
If you're sending at some time in the future (not immediately), then you can choose the Send Time.
Note: As a safeguard against sending duplicate messages, the date/time must be in the future in order for the system to queue up the marketing blast.
Additionally, the system will prevent sending more than one message to a patron for a given offer within a 120 minute period.

Marketing Blast - Recipients
We can choose to send our Marketing Blast to everyone, or only to a certain group of recipients, based on our Custom Tags.
For example, we might want to only send to our VIPs.

Custom Messages
We can optionally customize the messages being sent out, and we can send a sample out to ourselves to preview everything.
Note: for the reminders, the system will automatically prefix the subject with "Reminder - " so the recipient will have the correct understanding of the message.

Reminders - Sale Ends Soon
We can send out up to 3 reminders encouraging people to buy our eGift Card, Certificate, Discount Card or Subscription Box.
Blast Schedule & Next Marketing Blast
When we save, the system will tell us what the blast schedule is at a glance and what the next marketing blast is.
We can also click View to view what is queued up.

Marketing Blast Queue
Each time a marketing blast happens, or when you make updates to an offer, the system will queue up the next marketing blast, according to the schedule.
You can see what the checkout window is, along with the reminders that are queued up.
You can view this schedule for an offer or across all offers on your account by going to Reports > Marketing Blasts.
