How long does it take to get set up?
It depends on how quickly we are able to receive the information needed, like your offers, your logo, etc..Assuming we have everything we need, it can be set up the same day, but allow for 1-2 days.
What do I need to do to get set up?
If you view the onboarding guide, you will see a section at the top called 'Essentials', which are the tasks that are best to have completed by the business owner rather than CartQ or a Certified Partner. For the Discount Card specifically, these are the relevant 'Essentials' tasks that will need to be completed:
  • CartQ Sign-Up (do this first)
  • Upload Logo
  • Create Primary Location
  • Payment Integration (PayPal or Square)
  • Review Users & Notifications

In addition, you'll need to send us the offers you want to use, along with any associated background images.

Note: We are more than happy to assist with setting up any of these items. Just reach out if you need help or guidance.
Do I have to use a background image for each offer?
No, you can just have your logo (at a minimum). But having a background image gives it a nice touch. Ideally you would have a unique background image for each offer, but it's not necessary. If you don't use a background image, your logo will be shown in the background within each offer square. If you view the discount card demo, you'll see what it looks like with just one or two background images.

How much do I pay out of pocket?
You don't pay anything out of pocket during the trial period. If you like it and want to continue, you can enter a credit card and continue with our paid plan. Once you have launched your Discount Card and see sales coming in, you'll be able to evaluate whether it's worthwhile to continue. We are confident in our product and have seen the results that other restaurants have had, so we eagerly offer a completely free set-up and trial period (not withstanding our customer support fee on each sale).

What happens if I don't want to continue past the trial period?
Your discount card offers will most likely have a 6-month expiration date. Your account will continue to function on a complimentary basis for those 6 months (or until the offers are all expired) so that you don't have any disruption of service while customers might want to redeem an offer.
How much are the fees?
CartQ handles customer support for processing refunds and withholds a $2 customer support fee on each sale. In addition, Stripe or PayPal charges typical credit card processing fees. So, on a $20 discount card sale, the total fees withheld will be around $3, meaning you would net $17.

Does this integrate with my POS?
Not at this time. CartQ functions independently of POS systems. Businesses like the simplicity of the redemption process and consider it to be very easy to use. Once your staff become familiar with seeing the redemption page and entering their Security PIN, hopefully you'll agree that it's easy and painless. Another benefit is that because it's not tied to your POS system, you could switch POS systems and it would not affect your usage of CartQ.
What else do you offer?
CartQ offers a wide variety of marketing and eCommerce functionality for restaurants. Good, long-term marketing starts with building your list of emails and phone numbers. Restaurant owners know this, but it can be a challenge to set everything up and keep it maintained. CartQ's goal is to handle all the marketing-related tasks for you so that capturing your customer's information happens naturally and the follow-up marketing happens automatically. Do I have to schedule a live demo?
No, certainly you don't have to. We've tried our best to include all the relevant information for setting up an entire CartQ account entirely on your own, for anyone inclined to do so, via our onboarding guide and knowledgebase. But, typically it's nice to make a connection beforehand, and we want to make sure that you have the best experience possible and have the highest chances of success, so we look forward to chatting with you!
