Certificate Offer
Certificates usually represent some type of deal. Certificates are different from eGift Cards in that there is no running balance; the entire 'deal' needs to be redeemed on one visit.
Here are some examples:
Get a free appetizer with the purchase of an entree
Free upgrade of medium to large pizza
$25 Dine-In Certificate for $20

Setting the Title
When setting the title, exclude the price that the customer pays during checkout as this will automatically be displayed where needed. In other words, just include what the customer gets.
Example: '$25 Dine-In Certificate'

Three Types of Certificates
CartQ offers three types of certificates:
Single - One Certificate Per Order
Flexible - Customer Can Choose Their Desired Quantity
Fixed - Predetermined Quantity Per Order

Fixed - Predetermined Quantity Per Order
Single - One Certificate Per Order
This is the most basic type of certificate. The customer only gets one redemption per order.
This is how it looks to the customer on the checkout page. As you can see, discounts will be automatically displayed via strike-though text.
Flexible - Customer Can Choose Their Desired Quantity
This is when you want the customer to be able to choose how many they want to purchase.
For example, if they purchase a quantity of 2, that just means that they get two redemptions, or in other words, they get the same deal twice, typically on two different visits.

The customer is informed that they can redeem their certificate multiple times.
Typically they would get one redemption per visit, so that means they would need to multiple visits to use up their certificate. But you would want to spell that out in the certificate description if that's a requirement that you want to make.

Fixed - Predetermined Quantity Per Order
This is for when we want to force a certain quantity to be purchased.
Think of this like a punch card.
Let's take for example a gym that wants to sell a 10-visit punchcard for $100 that would normally cost $150. In this case you would set the price to $10 and choose 10 as the fixed quantity.
Or another example would be a bundle of two $25 Dine-In Certificates for $40.

Choosing a fixed quantity allows the system to do all the calculations and display the details appropriately to the customer so it's clear to them what they're getting.
