Find & Register Phone Number

First, some background information:

CartQ uses phone numbers and text messaging services from a company called Twilio, which happens to be the predominant service provider in this category. Twilio provides a feature called sub-accounts. This allows software-as-a-service providers like CartQ to easily segment and track all activity for a particular customer.

As you may already be aware, a business using CartQ gets one dedicated phone number to handle all inbound and outbound communications for the business. This dedicated phone number is created using the sub account for the business. This creates excellent isolation for a particular business and means that all incoming and outgoing calls and text messages for this phone number as well as the monthly fee and 10DLC registration fees are all billed to the Twilio sub account created for the business. This way the business can be confident that they're only paying for the traffic that is truly their own.

Furthermore, rather than adding any mark up to these costs, CartQ has decided to simply pass on the Twilio costs directly at wholesale rates. This means that each time the business is rebilled, a query is made to Twilio for that sub-account's usage since the last rebill. This breakdown is then displayed in the rebill notification from CartQ. These usage fees are simply added on to the normal monthly rebill amount.

Text message billing at the carrier level can be complicated, so this makes it very straightforward for CartQ to be able to bill businesses for the actual usage. This also benefits the business because text messages can be sent liberally, without any mark-ups.
Find & Register
From within Set Up > Account Settings, click the button to find and register your phone number.
Click the button to find and register your phone number.
Search For Your Phone Number
First you'll want to enter any criteria for your phone number. At a minimum you'll want to enter your desired area code.

It may not matter much to you since people probably won't be needing to remember the phone number, but if you want to search for a vanity phrase, you can do that as well. Use the asterisk (*) as the wildcard character to match any digit. This way you could try to match a phrase at the very end of the phone number, for example.

Vanity searches are not limited to letters. Try certain digit combinations as well, in order to get a number that flows nicely.

For example, search for ******2222 to find any number ending in all 2's. Or search for PIZZA to find any number in that area code that contains the word PIZZA.
Search for PIZZA anywhere in the phone number.
Choose a Phone Number
If you don't find the vanity number you're looking for, go back and try another search. Also try a different area code, especially if you have a newer, more recently added area code in your metro area as there will most likely be more numbers available on the newer area codes.

And finally, agree to the charges and click to register phone number. There is a one-time 10DLC application fee and then a monthly 10DLC fee, in addition to the monthly phone number fee and any voice or text usage. You can review the most up-to-date pricing by visiting the Twilio website directly by following the links at the bottom.
